Interested in getting involved with Seasearch?

We are running our Observer Course online on the mornings of Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd May.

The course will be no different from our normal Observer Course, it will just be run via Zoom and spread across 2 mornings.

The course is classroom-based with presentations that will train you in the basics of identifying local marine species and habitats. Once you are a certified Seasearch Observer, you can start recording what you see while underwater and feeding into local marine research and conservation. Following the presentations, you will have a go at completing a form from a dive video.

*The course will also be recorded so you can take part under your own steam if you cannot make it on either of these dates**

The course costs £50 per person. To confirm your place email:

Seasearch is open to divers AND snorkellers!

But in order to DIVE with Seasearch, you must be a qualified scuba diver. Minimum qualifications are BSAC/SSAC Sports Diver, PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, SAA Club Diver or CMAS 2 Star equivalent. You need to have done at least 20 dives of which 10 should have been in temperate sea water. You will also need to have a diving medical certificate or a Sports Diver medical self-declaration and have 3rd party diving insurance.
